FAQs

How do counseling sessions work?

You will first make an appointment for an initial session. After completing forms from the client portal, we will discuss your history further in the initial session. I may have more questions to ask you, so I will acquire a complete history.  After this first session, you may be then seen once or twice a week depending on intensity of issues. Sessions are 45-50 or 60 minutes in length.

Are my sessions confidential?

Yes! All sessions are completely confidential. However there are occasions when I would have to break confidentiality based on Texas state laws in cases of abuse and/or neglect of a child, adult, and the disabled. Also, if you tell me of an intent to harm yourself or others, the proper authorities would be notified.

What if I change my mind and decide therapy is not for me?

That is your right to change your mind. All you would do is inform me of this decision, and we would complete the necessary paperwork to close out your file. I can also refer you to another counselor if you feel that I’m not the right counselor for you.

Do you accept insurance?

I’m an in network provider for several insurance & EAP panels. If your insurance is not listed, please check with me as I’m in the process of credentialing with others.

What if I don’t have insurance, and need to privately pay? I’m not sure if I can afford counseling?

I offer intermittent slots for sliding scale. Please call and check if any are available at this time.
